Below are a couple of panoramas of the working areas of, first, Fletcher Station, the oldest Post Office in Aurora Colorado, and then Altura Station. The consolidation of these delivery units to other stations has been completed. For those of us who began our Postal careers, and in many cases served entire careers at either one or the other of the locations, these are sad sights.

It is expected by many of us that both locations will be cleaned, cleared and closed completely within a year, with retail Postal Operations being handed over to either Contract Postal Units ( CPUs ) or Village Post Offices ( VPOs ).

All good things must come to an end.
